Tasty Tuesday at IU: Yogi’s Grill & Bar Review

As an NFL fan in university housing,Thursday night games have become something of a problem for me. Thursday night games are broadcasted exclusively on the NFL Network, which is not provided on the university’s cable package. However, this also gives me the opportunity to explore new places to eat while I search for establishments with decent cable packages.

I have found Yogi’s Grill & Bar to be a great place to watch football games. The atmosphere is very relaxed, and most every seat has a good viewing angle for two or three televisions. There are a couple of bars, but there is a lot of normal sitting room as well. The menu is fairly standard for a neighborhood grill--they serve burgers, sandwiches, fries, fish entrees, and more.

Over the past couple of weeks I’ve had the chance to try a couple of Yogi’s dishes. The first time I went this year I ordered a bacon cheeseburger. It was very good, but I was more impressed with the sweet potato fries that came with it, which were excellent. Last time I went, I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich and Cajun buffalo chips. If I were able to reconsider my choices, I wouldn’t have ordered both at the same time, as it was a little too much heat to take in one sitting.

Overall, if you’re looking for a place to eat, you could do a lot worse than Yogi’s. I have no reservations about recommending the restaurant, and I imagine that I’ll continue to frequent Yogi’s for at least as long as the NFL season lasts. My only complaint is that it can be a little bit expensive for what you get.  It can be fairly difficult to get out of Yogi’s for less than $13-$15 after tip.
