I am a person that loves lists, so naturally bucket lists are something I highly enjoy. Although it completely terrifies me when I think of graduation, I would like to make the most of the time I have left and really take in everything Bloomington has to offer. I have not had the privilege to do everything on this list but I think it is a good starting point.
1. Order Baked with friendsHopefully you have done this by now, but if you haven’t call right now! Seriously. One of my fondest memories is when my mom sent me a box of Baked cookies to my dorm room and some of my friends and I stayed up late chatting and munching on some of the most delicious cookies I’ve ever had.
2. See a free movie at the IMUSadly I haven’t done this yet but in the Whittenberger Audiotorium they show feature length films for free! It’s a great way to spend a weekend and not blow through all your extra cash.
3. Go Cliff Jumping at the QuarryMy roommates and I have been counting down the days until it’s warm enough to go to the Quarry! Before you leave IU you need to do this. It sounds like it can be quite an exhilarating experience.
4. Try every restaurant on 4th streetMy personal favorite is My Thai, but there are so many unique restaurants on 4th street that I want to try. Next time you go to Kirkwood, bypass Chipotle and go to 4th street! You won’t regret it.
5. Participate in IUDMDancing for 36 hours with my Alpha Gam sisters is an experience I wouldn’t trade for anything. I could barely walk at the end because of my ankles, but it was well worth it to listen to the amazing Riley stories and watch the final count of donations go up at the end.
6. Find your favorite Btown coffee shop (Not starbs)
Grab a book and go explore some of the tiny coffee shops like Soma! I know how much I like my Starbs but it is refreshing to get out and experience the real Bloomington.
7. Rent a boat on Lake MonroeComing from Chicago, one of the things I miss most when I’m at school is Lake Michigan! So one weekend I want to go see Lake Monroe and take a boat out.
8. Go all out for an IU sporting event (not IUBB!)Slap on an IU tattoo and head over to support one of our teams! It can be just as fun as cheering on the Hoosiers at Assembly Hall.
9. See "Another Round" performBack when they were still Straight No Chaser, I attended their holiday show and was blown away by the talent of this group of men. Everyone needs to see them perform at least once.
10. Go on a bar crawlI saved this one for last, because let's face it, most people aren't 21 until halfway through their college career. (4 more months for me, woo!) But from what I've heard we have some of the best bars in the country, and you have to take advantage of them while you're here. What other time in your life is it acceptable to do this?
Hopefully you'll be lucky enough to do all of these things plus WAY more!
