This is by far one of my favorite places to get breakfast food in Bloomington! Their pancakes are delicious and the whole restaurant has a very cool vibe. Located on 6th Street, the restaurant is a cozy place to meet with friends and enjoy a scrumptious meal.
2. Wee Willie’sSomeone had mentioned to me an amazing breakfast place next to Night Moves… at first I was skeptical. My mom happened to be in town and I explained to her that the restaurant itself wasn't marked so it might be hard to find. We drove down Walnut and surprisingly found it right away. Friendly faces greeted us and we had fabulous eggs, hash browns, bacon, and pancakes. I definitely want to go back!
3. My Thai CafeI am a sucker for Asian cuisine. And I had always wanted to try a restaurant on 4th street, so naturally I chose My Thai. Now I go here all the time with friends, and it has become one of my favorite places to eat in Bloomington. I recommend the Drunken Man Fried Rice!
4. Darn Good SoupThe name of this restaurant is perfectly fitting! I love their chili and chicken tortilla soup. Whenever I’m feeling under the weather, I crave a cup of Darn Good Soup.
5. AmiI am a frequent customer at Ami. Once my friends and I discovered the specials on Tuesdays, we couldn’t stay away. If you’re into sushi, you need to try this place! And it’s located on Third Street, right next to MoBear’s, so close to campus!
6. Bloomington BagelYeah I know breakfast food is a repeating thing for me. But Bloomington Bagel is my favorite place for a quick meal in the morning!
7. Uptown CaféI love this place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. My mom and I always go here when she visits me and we love to order the crème brulée French toast. Easily one of my Btown faves!
8. Mother Bear’sI’m just going to say it now, you can’t go to IU and not like Mother Bear’s. Although it isn’t exactly what I’m used to (I grew up in Chicago, so Lou Melnati’s is my place) I’m always down for a slice of MoBear’s.
9. Z&C Teriyaki and SushiMost people haven’t heard of this place, but I love their teriyaki chicken bowl with fried rice. It is on Kirkwood right before Chipotle and right after Jimmy John’s! Bypass Noodles and all those chain restaurants and try something unique to Bloomington!
10. Malibu GrillIf you are looking for a nice, classy place to sit down and have a meal, Malibu is the place. My family loves to go here when they visit and they seem to have something for everyone.
