Here at IU, Spring is all about Philanthropies! There are tons of ways to get involved, give back, and even earn free t-shirts or meals out of attending different events. Between Greek Life and Student Organizations, everyone takes advantage of the good weather and green grass.
Greek Chapters are required by their Nationals to have at least one philanthropy benefiting a National Cause. Some examples include a 5k Color Run for Autism Awareness, a Wing Eating Contest for Prevent Child Abuse America, and a Petting Zoo for Save A Child's Heart. There are opportunities to support by buying t-shirts, a ticket to the event, or donating at the events. There is always tons of music and the chapter members have so much pride for their philanthropy and cause, it's contagious!
Besides Greek Chapters, many Student Organizations have their own philanthropies for their groups. There are even groups dedicated solely to giving back and leading others in the world of Philanthropy! Without IU putting on philanthropies, students wouldn't have access to all the scholarship opportunities that they currently do. Two of the biggest Student lead Organizations that rely on donations and philanthropy are the IU Student Foundation and the IU Student Association Others include the Student Athletic Board and the Union Board.
All of these organizations do a great job marketing on social media, chalking around campus, and by hanging flyers in all the academic buildings! Do not miss out on an amazing spring full of student networking and giving back!
XO
