Update on my Disney adventure and what I miss about Btown

If you've read my previous post, you would know that I'm currently participating in the Disney College Program at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. (You can read my first post about the program here). I'm been in Orlando for almost two months now and time has been going by so fast! So here's some of what I've been up to.

I work in Quick Service Food and Beverage at the Be our Guest restaurant in the Fantasyland area of  Magic Kingdom. My restaurant is unique because it is a quick-service restaurant for lunch and a table service restaurant for dinner. Since I only work the quick-service part, I have pretty good hours; from 10-4. I work five days a week and I usually have Monday and Tuesdays off.

My Roommates and I meeting the "UP" characters

I am taking a Disney class called Exploring Guest Service that meets every Monday for two hours in the morning. I am not getting any school credit for this class, but I'm taking it because it sounded interesting, We have had guest speakers from different areas in the park (like merchandise, food and beverage, and attractions) come to speak to our class and it's really interesting to hear what they have to say.

In my free time, I like to go to the Disney Parks and explore other parts of Orlando including Universal Studios. Not to mention trying a lot of delicious park food! There is also an outlet mall in walking distance from my apartment complex, which is not so good for my paycheck, but its good exercise walking there and back and walking around it.

It's weird being here though when the weather is 80 degrees and sunny and then back in Indiana there was horrible winter storms and 12 feet of snow! I do miss all my friends though and going to basketball games and exercise classes at the SRSC and the good Btown restaurants... and maybe even classes a little bit!

Cya in August, Btown!
