Although those beautiful changing leaves all across are starting to shrivel, new relationships are starting to bloom as the first initial months of the school year come to pass. It can be challenging to find an inexpensive, yet memorable date idea as a broke college student. Here are some cute and inexpensive date ideas for around campus and the town of Bloomington.
1. A Puppy Play-dateTake your significant other to Anthony's Pets in the College Mall to play with the world's cutest puppies. Their faces melt hearts, let me tell you. You cannot go wrong with puppies. Get on the Bloomington Transit 9 bus for free with your student ID and walk through the mall to do some shopping first as well!
2. Candy CrusadeWalk just a few buildings down Kirkwood and you will find Campus Candy, a sweet shop filled with any type of sugary treat you can possibly dream of. From chocolate, to gummies, to your old favorites like M&Ms and Bottle Caps, there's sure to be something of interest to your sweetie's sweet tooth. There is also a wide selection of frozen yogurt and toppings to chose from, along with indoor and outdoor seating to enjoy your final choices.
3. Picnic in the ParkGrab a blanket and some sandwiches from a local C-store (or El Bistro, the Woodlands, or any other on-capmus dining facility), some drinks, and maybe a dessert and sit out under a gorgeous autumn tree anywhere on campus for a simple, romantic date. Enjoy the nice weather while it lasts!
4. Dinner and a MovieIt's cliché, but who doesn't love going back to the ever-popular dinner and a film date? Grab a meal at one of the many restaurant options on Kirkwood and then head over to the Whittenberger Auditorium in the Indiana Memorial Union for a free movie with your student ID. Check out what is playing for the weekend here. Cuddle up and enjoy the free film!
5. Go To A GameWhether it's football, soccer, or any of the other fall sports currently in play, go on out and support your fellow Hoosiers with your significant other. It's always a fun time to cheer on the home team and supporting a common cause is a great ice-breaker!
