1. Apple Picking

Apple picking is one of the highlights of the Fall season, with variety of apple-based products available. You name it, Apple cider, Apple pie, Apple slushy, etc, it’s all there for you! One of the closest Apple orchards to Bloomington is the Musgrave Orchard which is about a 20-30 minute drive. As an international student from a tropical country, apple picking is an interesting activity for me because we don’t have apple farms. You can stroll through the trees and pick from the fresh selection of apples to be taken home. So plan a trip with your friends and visit an apple farm at least once before you graduate.

2. Boat Ride at Lake Monroe

Enjoy the view of Autumn at Lake Monroe while accompanied by your close friends. You can rent the boats and take a dip at Lake Monroe. Bring some food from you home country and just enjoy the fall breeze. Just another tip:  barbecue by the lake would be totally awesome to enjoy for the day.

3. Haunted house

Halloween, it’s the time of the year to be spooked! If you’re looking for some fun-haunting experiences, look for a Haunted Hayride, Haunted House, or the many other Haunted themes around Indiana. One of the popular Haunted Houses in Indiana is the Indy Scream Park located in Anderson, IN. Besides that, other Haunted Houses also provide group rates for ticket admission. Well, if haunted houses is too much for you, you can always opt for other option like watching new horror movie at the AMC cinemas.

4. Football season

Go support our football team for every home game and show some IU spirit. Regardless what the result is for the game, it’s the excitement that we need. You might not understand the rules but you can always do some research before the game. This is the time for you to go crazy and chant the IU song over and over again. Well, we have to admit that once we've graduated, we’ll miss American football and all the IU spirit culture.

5. Take pictures

This is the least expensive yet awesome activity we can do, so get out and snap some pictures. Capture the changing of the season through the lenses and take a stroll around Btown. Explore the beauty of our campus and downtown especially when the leaves change color beautifully. To make things more interesting, bring along your friend to be the model and play with leaves.
