Hi there! It is good to hear you are coming to IU. Feeling reluctant or nervous? Well, you should not be feeling that way and here is why ...
1) Where can I get food from my country? We have A LOT of foreign restaurants in our downtown. Not to mention the downtown is located right in front of IU's famous Sample Gate!
INDIAN RESTAURANT
KOREAN RESTAURANT
THAI RESTAURANT
and many more!!!!!!!!!!
2) I am so excited to promote my culture. Where should I start?Get involved with your country's student association. Show to IU that you are proud of who you are and IU can be proud of being a part of the world!
INDONESIAN STUDENT ASSOCIATION
CHINESE STUDENT ASSOCIATION
MALAYSIAN STUDENT ASSOCIATION
and again, many more!!!
3) My English is worrisome.Take advantage of English Improvement Programs organized by the Office of International Services. You will get to learn how to speak like a native speaker, and meet some other international students who want to improve their English just like you.
4) If I get sick, is there any clinic around the campus? Is the payment affordable? The IU Health Center is in the middle of the campus. If you have no knowledge about insurance plans in the US, the best thing you can do is purchasing the Aetna Insurance Plan that the OIS offers. You will get discount for your every visit to the IU Heath Center!
