Happy Holidays!

This time of year is my absolute FAVORITE. I love everything about Christmas. It's my favorite holiday for many reasons but mostly because I love the cozy, warm holiday fuzzy feeling that surrounds it. I love ABC Family's 25 Days to Christmas countdown, Christmas decorations, holiday desserts, giving gifts, celebrating with loved ones, and so much more.

Admittedly, the holiday season isn't the same in Bloomington as it is at home.

Personally, my house is decked out in holiday decorations, which I love. Having a Christmas tree up is REALLY important to me, too. Christmas is the entire month of December for me, and this December has been lacking holiday spirit! For starters, it has rained the past two days, and the three days before that (I'm writing this on the fifth) have been pretty warm for December in Indiana. The only time it snowed here was around Halloween! I'm ready for some permanent snow!

This post is dedicated to sharing my knowledge and tips on how to bring the Christmas cheer to Bloomington while you're away from home.

If you have a TV, watch ABC Family's 25 Days of Christmas!

As previously mentioned, I'm a huge fan of Christmas movies. My favorites are National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, The Santa Claus 1 & 2, and The Polar Express. They play all four of those and many more Christmas programs during the 25 Days of Christmas! It's a great way to get into the holiday mood when you don't have any work that needs to be done and you aren't busy. Just sit back and relax and maybe make some hot cocoa to go along with it (:

Decorate your room!

Even though I say this, my room is severely lacking in the decoration department! All I have is a tiny Christmas tree on my desk. But, nothing gets me more excited for Christmas than decorations! In addition to making your room feel all Christmas-y, it'll be cozy too!

Make holiday plans for when you go home for break!

I assume many of you will have family plans to celebrate Christmas, but do fun holiday things with your friends too! Go ice skating, decorate sugar cookies, build a snowman... Even have a holiday movie marathon! There are so many fun things to do at this time of year. Making these plans will have you even MORE excited to go home, and it will really make it feel like Christmas is here.

If it ever snows here... Have a snowball fight!

I haven't had a snowball fight in so long, but it would be so fun here!

Eat/drink your favorite holiday foods/drinks!

I personally am not a coffee girl, but there are so many seasonal drinks everywhere. At the Union, there's this little dessert shop. They sell special treats depending on the season! I know that they have gingerbread cookies and Christmas decorated cupcakes among other treats!

Enjoy the decorations around IU's campus!

Almost all of the Greek houses have lights put up, and the houses themselves are already so beautiful; the Christmas lights really make them look festive. Decorations are put up all over campus buildings. The Union has several Christmas trees up inside of it. Sample Gates is even decorated with wreaths. Seeing the campus decked out in Christmas spirit really emphasizes the holiday season!

Basketball is also really big at IU this time of year...

So go to a game! They're a lot of fun, even if your seats aren't so great sometimes.

That's all for this time. I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
