Every year at Indiana University, I take a look back and wonder how it can get better.  But somehow, every year it does.  It was so hard to choose, but these are my 10 favorite moments of 2013!

10.  Rapping on Top of Hep’s Rock

I made a video for Bucket Week that was all about dissing Purdue.  Me and some friends got to play around at Memorial Stadium while I RAPPED ON TOP OF HEP'S ROCK!!!

9. Sideling Reporting for the High School I graduated From

The Center Grove Sports Network offered me the opportunity to do sideline reporting for the Center Grove HS Football team.  I had a blast talking CGHSFB, interviewing Coach Moore, Joel Hale (Alum + current Ohio State FB) and so much more! I never imagined going from cheerleading for the team to reporting for it a few years later!!

8. Finding My iPhone Through Twitter

Okay this was AWESOME! My iPhone got stolen at a party... Then we tracked the entire adventure on Twitter over a period of 2 weeks. And through my followers' help using google maps and find my iPhone, we got a location.  The guy who took it had to FedEx it to me over night!  The picture is my mom emailing me about dinner since she couldn't text me lol...

7. A Ridiculous FIRST Indy 500!

A one-on-one interview with 3-time Indy 500 winner Helio Castroneves
through my internship with Fox 59 Sports.

Meeting Sage Steele in person for the first time.

I introduced myself as Alyssa Andrews, then my internship superviser said "Hoosier Lyss." Sage said, "oh I know you, you're really good on Twitter!" ...I about melting into a million pieces on the spot because she remembered me from Twitter haha :)

6. Turning 21

enough said lol. 5. Broadcasting Live for the First Time

For the first time OF MANY MORE TO COME, I was sideling reporting for the Big Ten Network Student U program.  I Also hosted a live Google+ Hangout with Olympic Shooter Amanda Furrer.

4. Road Trip to Omaha for the College World Series

Just before my dad had to leave for his new job and Alabama, we had the opportunity to ROAD TRIP TO OMAHA TO SEE INDIANA UNIVERSITY PLAY FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE COLLEGE WORLD SERIES!!! This was such a fun daddy-daughter trip!  It was especially cool for me because I had been reporting in the Indiana Baseball team throughout their entire run to Omaha starting at pre season practices last winter.

3. Achieving Over 3.2 Million Channel Views on YouTube

And 11,868 subsricbers and counting!!!! I was pretty proud once I hit my first million views.

As you can see, when I started keeping track of my progress on my channel I had less than 100 subsribers and not too many views.  I've been trying out different marketing strategies and techniques and using every little secret weapon I can to promote interaction with my videos and push my content as much as possible.  It's really rewarding to see the numbers and know the work is paying off!

2. Getting All Personal Equipment

Read the description on the picture for how completely deccccc'd out that Mac is.  And can you believe on top of that, a super nice HD camera, tripod, and a sennheiser microphone?!  Then to top it all off, I got the newest version of Final Cut (Pro x).  Now, I have the freedom and ability to be a one-woman show! Ever since this investement my parents so generously made into my broadcasting/entertainment/reporting/WHAREVER-I'M-GONNA-BE career, I've been able to go on completely solo and report on, edit, and produce my own work!

1. Getting a Job Offer From IU Athletics

One little blog paragraph will never do this feeling justice.  I've been officially hired with Indiana University Athletics since October and still have no idea how much I make because I seriously don't care.  All I care about is doing what I love, which is pulling entertainment from directions you least expect it to come from in sports. I can't even explain my job. I just love it.

I've done things I never would have dreamed possible at my time at IU. Rapping on top of Hep's Rock, running the flags at an IU Men's Basketball game during the famous timeout, interview Cody Zeller at Bankers Life Fieldhouse??! And the list goes on and it is just going to keep on going...

WOW. ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW!!! I love my school, my friends, my job... every thing about Indiana University makes me so incredibly happy!  I can't wait to see what 2014 brings!

Oh and one more moment.... BEING A TOP BLOGGER FOR WE ARE IU OF COURSE!!

It's moments like these that make me proud to be a Hoosier and the reason I do the things I do.
