IU students LOVE Spring & Thanksgiving break. Normally, Spring break is in the middle of Spring semester, right after most mid-term exams; while Thanksgiving break is about two to three weeks before Fall semester final exam week. Combining with two weekends, each break lasts nearly about 9 days, which is a prefect opportunity for student to REST.
So, where should we go for Spring and Thanksgiving breaks?
For Spring break, if you want to chase the sunshine, go to beautiful beaches and have fun in theme parks, there is a place you should never ignore. In Florida, you can first visit Miami and enjoy its splendid beach scenes. Siting on the sand, enjoying the sunshine and having delicious food. How enjoyable it is.
After some days in Miami, you could take a shuttle to another amazing city -- Orlando, "the capital of theme parks." Disney, Universal, SeaWorld, you name it! You will definitely have great fun in these world-class parks.
Thanksgiving Break
For Thanksgiving break, Chicago is a good place to visit. Chicago is not far away from our IU Bloomington campus, it takes you about 4 hours to drive here. Of course, you can always fly to Chicago from Indianapolis airport, which only takes an hour.
For the first few days, you should go and visit some popular places such as the Field Museum, Skydeck, Shedd Aquarium and Millennium Park.
I highly recommend you to stay until Friday before you leave Chicago. Because---You should never miss the shopping chance in Chicago on The Black Friday!
Chicago has two major outlet malls: Chicago Premium Outlets (outdoor) & Fashion Outlets of Chicago (Indoor). You can always find the thing you want on the Black Friday with unbelievable discount. Have fun!
